Anyone checked out the new ViaMichelin site yet? Officially going live mid-May and currently in Beta form:-
http://beta.viamichelin.co.uk
I like the idea of looking at other users travel guides, ie. Covent Garden one from Paul Gilbert. Is that all that is on there though, surely there must be other contributions and from other countries. Anyone know how to search for these?
Cheers. |

Well spotted.
I would have thought they would have sentregistered users a note to say this was happening, I've just filled out a survey form about the old site, took me ages. It makes sense of the questions they were asking now though.
At least now my saved addresses come up on screen without me having to create a new folder to make them appear.
It can only improve things, can't it? _________________ Mike

Actually, they did send info in their newsletter yesterday! Unfortunately, they always send it to me in French. Luckily her indoors speaks it so I have my own translator ;-)

There was a link in the newsletter to the new site, which opens in French so it is better to use the link (above). _________________ Gee-Pee

That's interesting, I'll check my status.
I've been registered since last June.
Thanks for the info. _________________ Mike

Hi Stu
Depends what you mean by live. The Beta version works very well and I like the better mapping on it. I'm using it all the time now. Hav'nt tried all the pages yet but I can assure you the direction pages are 'live'.

I've been trying to set up a route ("itinerary") with stopovers on this site (can you set up more than 2?) and save it to MyViaMichelin. It loses the stopovers and just gives me the direct route from start to destination. I tried changing the route from within MyVM but it just took me back to the main site to do the changes, gave me the save option again, and lost the stopovers again.
I'm sure I'm missing something here - am I? _________________ David

Anyone else notice that the 'Send to GPS' option now allows the file to be saved in the following formats;
TomTom
ViaMichelin
Mio
Navman
Garmin
Navigon
Seems to work for both locations and routes. Think I will keep my ViaMichelin account _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

FYI - I asked VM about my recent query on this thread on saving routes from VM to MyViaMichelin.
They have confirmed that only 2 stopovers are allowed in route planning on the VM site - they say they will will get back to me about the problem of losing the stopovers in the itinerary saved in MyViaMichelin.
Will update as and when ... _________________ David
