It's the way that the software works.
You obviously have the Device connected by the USB lead when the PC and the Device is on. _________________ Richard

Make sure you use the correct disconnect device procedure if you decide to connect or you could corrupt your tomtom software .
The general consensus on the site is to make a back up copy in windows explorer
Hope you do not think I am telling you how to suck eggs |

When?
If it happens with NOTHING connected - it's a fault.
Try a reset or a return to factory settings and if it still does it, send it back.
If it happens when you are connected to a computer - that's normal.
But I guess you realise that!
If it happens when you connect to the power supply - are you using the genuine TomTom one?
I've seen this happen with Garmin models that use the USB connector for power as well when using a TomTom car charger instead of the Garmin one (but I've never seen it on a TomTom when using the same TomTom charger). |

Yeah, sorry for not explaining the problem correctly. It happens while I use it
in the car. When I tap "No", the voice prompt goes off. Tried resetting it etc but no joy. Thanks for the replies. |

So are you using the genuine TT car charger?
And what "voice prompt goes off"? |

Hi
I had this with a 720. I returned it for a replacement. It is caused by a faulty pcb apparrently.
