Hello
I am in the market to purchase an unprade 256 SD card for my ipaq 3950. With all the chat on these forums about Sandisk cards being rubbish and to avoid. Is this card a Sandisk clone and any good as the price is ok on Ebay

I was browsing Pocket PC thoughts and someone there said Lexar, Panasonic and PNY were all pretty reliable.
I have two Lexar Memory sticks for my camera and they are both fine (the Mem Stick Pro is really fast).
I've also got a 256MB Lexar SD on it's way.... |

Certainly Kingston are fine as are Panasonic and Lexar. Have no experience of Fuji. Just aske the seller if there is any mention of 'China' on the card. Whilst Sandisk Japan are fine, Sandisk China are not as are many cards marked as being manufactured in China. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hello pgchimp,
You can buy the Kingston cheaper than ebay here in UK:
http://www.valuemedia.co.uk/SD_card.htm
the price looks more expensive at first look, but the delivery costs less,
a total of £43.10 including post. And a reliable UK seller.
Really tempted to buy one myself
Darren,
Do you know if the Kingston 256 MB SD works OK with ipaq 2210 ?
I plan to use a CF card for TomTom maps, and the SD for my other data.
Thanks
Mark. |

I received the kingston 256 SD card this morning,
works great, is labelled as ' Made in Japan' , so should not have the problems of the chinese cards that some people have trouble with.
Looks like a bit of a bargain
Valueflash and valuemedia look to be the same company, but pgchimp got a better bargain than me !
