Just had an email from TT, (and they know that I only have TT6 in my profile.)
Time to refresh your map? New maps out today
link to TomTom page
Following the links, they seem to be indicating that I need v675, but that's what I already have, or have I missed something here

I'm equally confused. They are trumpeting the fact that these maps are brand new. Must be different than the v675 map I have had for months which appears to be even older than v660! |

I was going to say that the email was probably sent to everyone regardless of whether it would be useful or not. Thing is that my profile now has the OneXL (used to have Navigator for Palm) only and I didn't get an email.
Others do appear to have new maps available (v7.20 for me, only the 930s get v8) so it does appear to be no change for Nav6 users as before. ♦ _________________ Gerry

Yep, despite purchasiing v675 months a go, I too just got the (spam) email from TT inviting me to upgrade! Mind you, I regulalrly get emails telling me that new Speed Camera updates are available, only to find that they finally appear about 2-7 days later. Nothing like confusing your customers. Really, TT needs to sharpen up its act. |

Another one who got email, having checked they dont even give a clue on build no , so presume you are supposed to purchase before finding out whether they are even a later build or not, Crazy |

Happened to me too. The web site insisted I update TT Home. Spent too long trying to get the new TT Home to install properly, then waiting ages while it synced to my hx4700. Then it proved to be the usual waste of time. TT Home tried to get me to download their POIs, No way do I want their POIs - they have taken me to the wrong place too often. (a couple of National Trust sites, and a golf course. Nearly late for my tee time!) All I can say is hurrah for the PocketGPS POIs. I use them and confirm or correct them regularly. The TT ones are all deleted from my pda.
Basically, TT want you to come look at their web site under any pretence. They hope that you will see one of the new integrated navigation devices, and decide to buy it. Another post suggested they are concerned about piracy of the Navigator 6 software - so making a dedicated machine a pre-requisite for an update reduces that significantly.
Or perhaps I am being too cynical? |

the "new maps" are older than copilots I have from before Christmas.
After long emails to TT they still cannot explain why. They just say they are the most up to date maps by the leaders in map technology! |
