got a 730t from amazon yesterday for £260. Used it twice today and have been setting up the traffic services etc.

Last night updated the map to 8.05 and the app to 8.02.

today connected the tomtom to my mobile (a tytn II) all functions seem to work ok with BT handsfree calling really impressive. I'm running a "cooked" rom with wm6.1 and BT DUN is now back Smile (at least on the rom I'm running) - my ONE wouldn't work with the original orange wm6 rom. The 730T connected to the phone and found all the orange settings without any input from me.

I've tried the rds traffic module and it connected but looking at the map it only found 37 incidents whilst GPRS connection found 147 (maybe more).....I can't use them together so I'll use the phone based setup for now - but my query is what will the difference be with HD traffic - I have an unltd data tarrif so the cost of running with the fone is negligable.

So is HD traffic just a mobile dongle with sim card built in and a possibly cheap monthly fee or will it offer more than GPRS does?

Overall though very happy with the 730t so far.

Ian, RDS based TMC information is regional, for example when leaving Blackpool I can typically see as far North as Carlisle and South to Stoke, this is a band covering the full width of the country. As you travel the RDS receiver will tune to a different frequency (automatically) and receive information more relevant to the area you are within. I find this works very well in practice, I will have information pertaining to Birmingham at least 45 minutes before I get there, (the same applies to anywhere else in the country).
TMC via GPRS gives you the full country coverage, this might be handy at times, but it will certainly explain the difference in terms of incident numbers) between the two delivery methods.
As for HD Traffic we will have to see as this system has yet to launch in the UK, it certainly will improve matters though - Mike
