Hi All,
How does TomTom Home know when the latest map guarantee starts?
Does it just take it from the the time you set up HOME and register your device? |

It runs relative to the purchase receipt you have for the device, should there be any problem with the automated update system (which there seems to be on a regular basis from what forum members report) TomTom suport will request proof of purchase - i.e. a till receipt which contains the date the device was bought - Mike |

I think Home will register your new device when you first connect it to Home. I have a new ONE which arrived on 24th April and I first connected up to Home over a week later. This week, I asked for Latest Map Guarantee and it said I could have it. However, the map offered was v715, whereas TT announced v720 this week. So I'm pursuing TT over it. Slight difficulty is I didn't buy the ONE, it came as a free inclusion with my new van. TomTom therefore asked for proof of purchase of the van - proof of spending over £9,500 to handle a device worth about £100 (less at their cost price). Unfortunately, when I sent them the scanned copy invoice AND added in block capitals that the device did NOT come with the van on 12th March, but was sent separately and arrived a fortnight ago, they replied that as I'd had the device more than a month I don't get the new map.
So proof of Latest Map Guarantee entitlement is either when Home says so, or when TT get hold of a copy of your purchase receipt - 30 days or one month being the time limit from one or the other. _________________ Dennis
