Go to 'Change Preferences' and look for 'TomTom Safety Cameras' select it and look for a 'Disable alerts' and select it, click 'Done'.

Should see and hear only PGPS cameras and alerts.

The TomTom cameras are enabled/disabled in the TomTom PLUS Services Menu. Page 3 of the Main Menu.

The Speed display is controlled from the Status bar preferences and is a separate function.

Hi, Try this to disable the TT speed cameras. This is how my 910 works but it should be similar for your device

Tap the main screen to bring up the menu.... find the (TomTom PLUS Services) button and select it........find the (TomTom Safety Cameras) button and select it.........find the (Disable Alerts) button and then...(Done)

That should do it hopefully.

Good Luck Very Happy

The Speed display is controlled from the Status bar preferences and is a separate function.

The Over Speed Warning is set up in Safety preferences.

Both of these are in Change Preferences.

Thanks. Although Im not sure if I made myself clear. Prior to instalilng the new camera database when driving along a road the unit would flash up visualy top left of screen say the 30mph speed sign roundel and chime likewise for all speed limits. Also it would flash the roundel and chime when approaching a speed camera. When I ran the demo it didn't. Is this a feature only to be found from the official TT database

Have you got the Speed Zoned Camera Database installed?

Have you used the Warn When Near Function to set up the warnings?

Following on from what Oldboy asks if you do have the speed zone set have you got the .ogg sound files?

If yes to the above do the following for each speed zone listed.
If no to the sound files see http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=53604 before you do below.

Touch your screen, Change Preferences and locate Warn when near a POI

Select th first spped zone from the list

On the following screen select 'No'.

OK the distance.

Select YES.

Select 'Done'.

You'll return to

REPEAT FOR EACH SPEED LIMIT.

I'm afraid you must have been mistaken there. The round speed limit sign will ONLY flash in the top left corner on the approach to a speed camera (fixed or mobile) - its a POI alert.

It cannot be made to appear on just a speed limit change.

The only indication of speed limit may be in the speed display at the bottom of the screen (e.g. "65/70" meaning you are doing 65mph in a 70mph zone) and that only works on a percentage of roads, where the info has been coded into the map data.

Not mistaken the roundel flahes the speed limit even when there is no speed camera nearby.
