Do fixed Gatso type cameras cover both sides of the carriageway? Can they catch vehicles approaching them from in front as well as from behind? I think that I may have been flashed by one as I approached it from the front. The camera was on the opposite side of the road & facing the opposite way I was travelling, should I expect a ticket?
The camera only flashed once do they need to take two photos to calculate your speed?

Gatsos take 2 rear facing pictures and flash twice. Truvelo use infrared flash and can be front or rear facing.

If it was a gatso you are ok as they take their photo after you drive past it one flash warning two flash your nicked.
Forward faceing cams dont usualy flash you for fear of causing you to crash they tend to use infer red |

There's a Gatso on Chiswick Bridge in London that I pass every day.
It seems particularly keen to flash at motorbikes coming TOWARDS it (i.e. the wrong way). Always good fun watching the faces of the drivers who've just been "snapped" for no reason! |

If you get a gatso on just the right bend in the road, you can set them off from the opposite direction with your headlights without even exceeding the speed limit. |

I've never done such a thing. Especially not by overtaking some twit who's chatting on their mobile that I've been following for a while... _________________ Gone fishing! |
