Navman 3450 software activation

I have a NAvman 3450 sleeve for my iPAQ h3765. I let the battery die and had to reinstall my Navman software (v1.90) Every time I try to activate it online, I get an error stating that it could not connect and to check my internet connection. I emailed Navman and the response they gave me (a complete line of bs) was that the software is too old and due to security reasons they had to update their registration servers and due to the age of the software it doesn't comply with the new security standards. Because of this they are telling me I need to purchase newer software and that their techs haven't found a workaround for this. (It's called a new registration app)

I REALLY don't want to spend the money on new software and maps. Anyone else run into this problem and have a workaround, maybe a registry key that makes the software think its activated?

I noticed a registry key in \HKLM\SOFTWARE\Navman\SmartST Pro\Keys that is blank.

Well here's an update.

Since I live in the States and don't have an international calling plan I thought I was out of luck, BUT I googled navman's phone number and got a hit from newegg.com, they had Navman's support number listed (which is funny, because Navman doesn't have their support number listed) I phoned them and they are sending out V2 whenever they get around to putting together another batch of free upgrades. Sounded like they do it when they have a bunch at a time, I may have to wait a bit, but I wont have to buy new software.

The UK offers free upgrades to V2 for UK customers but the USA is run by a different part of the company and are unable to offer this
