tom tom go 700 NOT recognised on PC prior to downloading

Hello all
i have a TOM TOM 700 GO that when i plugged in the other day, was NOT recognised by my PC.
It is using VISTA as the operating system, and HAS worked previously.
The unit still works, and i have re-set it to see if this works, and it is till not recongised.
The USB port has been checked out (both of them) and work.
The 2 x leads i have for connecting the unit to the PC work also.
Any ideas anybody??

Hi and welcome.
Did you realise this should have been asked in the TomTom section of the forum as it hasn't got anything to do with the Speed camera database? It would also be seen by more TomTom users.

It will probably get moved there by the moderators, but I'll try a quick answer anyway.
