Has anyone any idea how long map corrections take to be implemented?
I've been trying to report incorrect road speeds around my area for about 6 months, but they never get updated! |

Version 8 of the software does allow Speed Limit changes which are instantly available on the device, so they are moving in the right direction. I will be posting a few screen shots of this in use later tonight.
Until version 8 software and a suitable map is made availabe and then installed to your device there is very little you can do though - Mike |

If memory serves, one of the other threads I have read on here stataed that the 1st menu screen you get when going into mapshare will implement any changes you make immediately to your own map and sent to tom tom if you have set it in your mapshare preferences.
The options on the next menu are the ones sent to tomtom for verification and inclusion on the next map version.

D4VE is correct.
Mapshare does a lot less than you may be led to believe by all the hype.
ON v7 software and maps, the ONLY things you can do that will get implemented on your own map (and that will be shared with others) are:
1. Block or unblock a road in one or both directions
2. Change the name of a road
3. Edit or add a new POI (and the sharing of those has been broken/unavailable for months too! They are not being downloaded with the other map corrections).
That covers all the options on the first corrections page.
The clue to what it is capable of, is that the icon to get to the next pages is called "Report other error" rather than [c]correct[/c] it.
Version 8 software and maps adds the capability to:
1. change the displayed speed of sections of a road, and
2. stop or allow left/right turns into roads. (although I've not seen any descriptions of this working yet).
So far, v8 software and maps are only available on the new x30 Tomtom models |

Correct.
And you will have to buy a v8 map too. |
