I see that one of your competitors is claiming instant (every few seconds) updates to their camera database while driving using GSM/GPRS...sounds good to me. Comments please. |

Comments? Such as what, yes you're correct they are claiming that?
They aren't a competitor at all as they don't supply a third party POI to 30+ sat nav device owners! _________________ Darren Griffin |

We're a database provider. There is no main stream device that can receive OTA updates other than RA's and they don't allow you to use anyone else's data. TomTom have a pseudo service but again it's a closed shop.
At the price they have set there simply isn't the demand anyway IMHO. And unless they sell loads then the OTA updates for mobiles won't be worth anything as you need many thousands of customers to ensure you capture the data in a timely fashion. witness RA's Navigator device, that had OTA updates and it's died a death, way too expensive.
We wouldn't dream of investing in producing a competing device unless it could be sold sub £100 and that ain't gonna be possible anytime soon sadly. _________________ Darren Griffin |
