geko 201 with laptop

Hi
Having just bought the geko, can I connect it to a laptop to use like an in car satnav.?My laptop has usb ports but no serial ports. If so what software would I need for the laptop?

You will need a lead to connect to the unit like This one, however for the other end you need to get an RS232 connection working on the PC.
USB to serial converters don't work well as they end up with the wrong voltage, one product that I do know that works is one of These I use the CF type in a PCMCIA carrier with my laptop, this can also double up as an additional RS232 port for my ipaq when need be - Mike
