HI and welcome.
What maps are you loading?
Do you have an Unlock Code for the map? |

Where did you buy the maps from and what maps were loaded before?
Where did you load the maps to? Internal Memory or SD Card?
What maps EXACTLY did you installed? What does it say on the DVD?
From Garmins website.
Quote: | If you are getting a message on your unit stating; Can't unlock maps; then proceed as follows:
Open the Notepad program on your computer by clicking the Start menu, All Programs, Accessories, Notepad.
Type in the Unlock Code for the current version of the map software WITHOUT dashes or spaces.
Click the File menu and click Save As...
At the bottom where it says Save As Type: click the down arrow next to this box and click All Files.
Click to check the box next to file name and type in gmapprom.unl
Click the down arrow next to Save in: and click on Desktop.
Click Save to save the file to your Desktop.
Close the Notepad and right-click on the file that you just saved then click Copy.
Connect the nüvi® to the computer's direct USB 2.0 port (no hubs) and double-click My Computer
Double-click the Garmin/nüvi drive
Double-click the Garmin folder.
Click the Edit menu and click Paste. If it asks: if you want to replace the file, click Yes to replace it.
Disconnect your unit from the computer and let it restart. |
Proceed at your own risk
Also
Quote: | If you are getting a Can't Unlock Maps message, you have a problem with the unlock code on your unit. If your GPS is not a preloaded device, you may need to verify that you are using the correct unlock code and re-install your mapping software.
If your GPS is a preloaded device, such as a nüvi, or if you cannot get this issue fixed with this information, please contact Garmin for further troubleshooting. |

You need to delete one file (gmapsupp.img) You will find it in the Garmin folder of your Sat Nav it holds the wrong keycode for the map you have loaded |
