Having some problems with the map update guarantee here
Purchased a 920T a few days ago
Has version 710 US & EU Maps
I see on the website V715 are available for purchase but when I try the Use Map Update Guarantee Button on Home it says I have the latest maps.
Anyone had any luck with this recently, The 710 Maps look about 6 months old so was hoping that the 715s would be a good free upgrade as my unit is less than a week old!
Advice appreciated. |

You most defintely ARE entitled to both the 715 EU map and the 715 North America maps. Contact TTSupport in Europe and explain the situation. It seems that European TomTom is much more amenable in making European TT920 users in your situation have the availability of both European AND NA maps. TTSupport over here in NA are basically refusing to offer North American 920 users the Eurpean map, just the North American upgrade.
The odd person here HAS gotten both maps but has had to jump through hoops to make it happen.
(just make sure you are NOT offered the USA & Canada map, it's inferior to the North America map) |

Thanks for the reply
I have just spoken to them and they have asked for a copy of the purchase receipt so have uploaded that to the support site, just have to wait for a reply now to see what they say (and if they try to wiggle out on the US map) seems much larger than the old 710 version as well.

I had no problem getting both map upgrades after sending them the receipt and the serial number of the unit. If they didn't ask you for the serial number you should go back and add it to your reply.
Be aware that the NA map will be too large to fit onto the 920 with the W&CE map. You will need to be a minimum of a 2GB SD card. If you want to store mp3 files make it at least 4GB. _________________ David
