Hi
I have just bought a P560 but can not get TOM TOM 6 to get a valid signal. What settings to I require? How can I tell if the P560 GPS is working correctly and not TOMTOM.
Thanks for any help.
Regards

On the P350 and 550 its
Other NMEA GPS
GPS baud rate 4800
GPS_COM
Try these settings on yours.
You should see the little wheel spinning.
Go outside, under an unobstructed sky, and wait. It can take up to 30 minutes to get your first fix afterwhich it will be much quicker, as fast as 37 seconds, according to use. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Thanks for info.
I have tried this now but still no signal.
P560 keeps on saying no valid GPS signal.
Is there any way to see if GPS part of the Mio is working ?
Thanks

The link for Winfast is way down towards the bottom of the page but when I clicked on it it took me back to the main page.
I still have it on my other computer, if you PM me your e-mail address I'll mail it tomorrow for you. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Hi I have been reading most of the comments on Mio 560 settings : Try settings as: Manufacturer NMEA Model NMEA 0183, RMC Port COM2: GPS_COM Baud 57600 I found these on Forum and they work well on Memory Map OS5 The Ephemeris file can be loaded using Mio software and I have no trouble finding 5 or 6 sats even indoors or in car. If Ephemeris file has expired it will autostart Mio for some odd reason even if "Auto" is off. My problem is getting Mio Mapping onto another card so I don't have to change cards to alternate programs. Has anyone done this ? When I change cards and reload Mio Mapping it seems to check post codes in my address book and then freaks out. Works fine if I empty addresses then add them back again. |
