The warning sound when approaching a camera has suddenly disappeared from my TTG520. And, although Map Share changes download OK via Home, I get a message that they cannot be installed. Should I try a full reset or is there an easier solution? Many thanks for any advice. |

I lost my camera warning sounds (not the cameras) after the recent 7.480 update. Got them back by going to "tt safety cameras" then "disable alerts" then "re-enable alerts" --sounds back on. Worth a try !! |

Many thanks Burren - I've done that and will see if it helps when I next go out. My problems started when I downloaded the new software too! |

Try it in demo mode on a route you know has cameras. It might give you a clue as to whether it might work !! |

Sorry to use you as an example, but this shows how useful it is if everyone can give as much information about what happened or what you did just before a problem appeared!
If we didn't know you'd just gone to the latest software, we would have probably gone off on a totally different line of investigation. |

Yes, point taken. Stupid of me. The problem is I can see the cameras but can't 'hear' them so will have to wait until I travel to see if the reset has worked. The problem with installing Map Share updates remains, though... |

As Burren said, no need to wait, just run a "demo" past a camera you know.
Menu p2 "Prepare Route" (known as Advanced A-B planning on older software) set the 'from' and 'to' points using "point on map" to go past a camera. Once it has calculated the route, tap "details" and then "show route demo". Set speed around 200% (no higher then 300%) and listen for the sounds.
EDIT: The above all assumes you are using the PGPSW speed cam database. I don't think the TomTom-supplied one works in Demo mode. (but you say you can "see" the cameras so I think it must be the PGPSW one).
I think the Mapshare issue is possibly also down to this rubbish software version.
Can you revert back to your previous set-up? Please tell us you did a backup before you updated it.... |

Great - did the demo and it works fine - the bongs are back! Many thanks.
I was stupid enough not to do a back-up! Urgh. |
