Had a quick look but i am being a bit lazy, does anyone know where i can get either a longer power lead or an extension cable, male mini usb to female mini usb to enable me to route the cabling for my TomTom One out of sight.

Hi MrCool,
It’s not good to lengthen cables by cutting and extending – it invalidates the guarantee.
Last time I looked, the male to female extension leads were for sale in Halfords, you can even get multiple sockets for other gadgets.
There were pictures on another post aprox a year ago to a similar question, if I find it I will add it here. _________________ TomTom Go 60

GJF is referring to male to female CIGAR LIGHTER SOCKET extension leads...
Those are certainly an often used way of hiding the power adapter and all the cabling behind the dash.
They are also available from Maplins:
See THIS TOPIC for more details.
I have searched for months (and I work in the IT/electronics industry) and have never been able to find a mini-USB male to female extension cable.
(Someone please prove me wrong! ) |

Many thanks for the replies, just a thought, i have a cigar lighter adaptor which has a usb slot which i use to power my mp3 player, these are plentiful and the cables, usb to mini usb are available in different lengths, what is the chance that one of them could be used to power the satnav ? |

Yes it will work. ANY USB powered device has to conform to the USB powering specification and will only draw a safe maximum current from the charger.
You may well find that it takes longer to CHARGE the TomTom though. |
