The CTIA Wireless 2008 Expo and Conference will be hosted again this year in Las Vegas, April 1-3. Billed as "The Most Important Global Technology Event of the Year", 1,100 companies will exhibit to a gathering of more than 40,000 industry professionals from 125 countries.
Wireless conferences have come a long way since their Berlin debut in 1903 - every year, CTIA Wireless brings a star-studded list of speakers to the keynote stage (including two ex US presidents) - this year is no exception. Sir Richard Branson, Founder and Chairman of Virgin Group & Virgin Mobile is among those giving keynote speeches this year.
The top names in wireless technology descend on the conference capital of the World every year to showcase their more recent offerings. Worldwide wireless usage revenues are reported to generate 500 billion dollars annually from over 2 billion users.
The CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association) Show acts as a global marketplace for the wireless industry to connect to entertainment and communications businesses.
eGPS (enhanced GPS), location based and related social networking services are currently taking centre stage in the industry and it is confidently expected that both subjects will be suitably represented at CTIA, even taking a more prominent role than they did at the last Expo.
PocketGPSWorld.com will join other GPS centred attendees involved in the satnav industry which will include, among many others, Garmin, San Jose Navigation, Networks In Motion, Krusell, ProClip, deCarta, TelMap, Stars Nav, TruePosition, Trimble, Navteq and Teleatlas. _________________ Robert Brady |
