Please help. I first took my ttone out of the box and it was working fine, and today I decided to install the home2 software and update. I installed the software from the tt and then connected it. I first did a backup and it wouldn't finish. then I updated the software and it couldn't open a particular file.
After this when I powered it on, it can on, the splash screen came on and then it went off again. I have tried several times to update the software and it keeps hanging on different files - the latest message saying it couldn't access G:system. Now when i power up the tt it goes to the nighttime splashscreen and then stops - you have to push the reset to clear it.
Can you please offer some suggestions as I am at my wit's end! I have tried numerous resets

I'm not clear when you say the backup 'wouldn't finish'. What did it do, or not do?
Anyway, I would connect the unit to the computer, make a full backup using Explorer, not TTHome, start up TTHome, choose to remove items from the unit and select the application. TTHome will give a warning but do it anyway (again, AFTER the full Explorer backup).
Then, go to Update my unit and you should get the newest firmware. Install it and see if the issue is resolved. If not, perhaps download and run the 'clear flash' tool from TomTom's site and try running it.
