I thought the 44x44 icons were to appear in the top left hand corner of the TT not on the map it's self. When you unzip them they are all named correctly for the PGPSW camera database except they have x2 after them. So you just put them in the map directory and they work straight off. Mine do anyway. _________________ TomTom Go 950 Live.

I have the icons already made by GerryC, does this mean that you just put the icons into the directory and they will show without doing anything? |

That's right.
In fact the only difference you'll see is that the icon in the corner of the screen will look "cleaner".
If you haven't got the large icons installed, the normal one is scaled up to the same size, it just looks a bit more "blocky".
The normal-sized ones are still used on the roads in the map and driving views. |

ok Andy, i thought that as they were 44x44 they would actualy physicaly be a bigger icon for my poor eye sight and show bigger in the top left of the screen. |

The normal icons on the map itself are 22x22.
Gerry has discovered that (on v7 software) you can go up to 24x24 size and he's also made some of those too, if that helps the eyestrain a bit. |

Thanks Andy. When I saw your name at the the last poster, I know there wouldn't be much to add.
I'm still fine tuning the 44x44 and 48x48 icons to make the text a bit clearer but what's on the site is still good. THe files are named so that they can be placed in the map folder along with all the others.
It's possible you will now have...
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2 .......... the data file
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ogg .......... the ogg audio file
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.bmp ......... the standard 22x22 or 24x24 image
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30_X2.bmp .. the large 44x44 or 48x48 image
Just out of interest, I prefer the 44x44 as it looks better (to me) and shows properly in the menus. What are people actually using and have you tried them both to compare? (won't waste time if one is not being used).
By the way, it was either Oldboy or Oldie that posted about the 24x24.

Download them here.
They are superb and I have them as my default, we'd offer them as the standard (with full credit to GerryC and his approval) if every TomTom supported them but they don't. The support issues mean we can't yet contemplate such a move _________________ Darren Griffin |

Do we know which devices they won't work with? |

Currently it will only work with TomTom devices (exc PocketPC versions and pre v7 versions of TomTom PND).
Because of the complexity of our cross platform 'on-demand' delivery system it precludes our offering the larger icons. However we do hope to shortly offer GerryC's excellent icons in 22x22 format across the range of devices we cater for. _________________ Darren Griffin |
