Having spent ages sorting out how to make the ridiculous Tomtom Home software recognise my ONE (thanks to Mike on this forum that was sorted out painlessly eventually), I now cannot for love nor money download this map!!!
I've spent every waking hour outside of work over the last 2 days trying to get the download to the end - last night it failed right at the death: an internal server error during the download of one of the last files - something called activation_map_50093.cab. Other goes bailed out at the 500Mb and 600Mb marks respectively, along with many other less frustratingly promising false starts.
Tomtom first of all this morning fobbed me off with a stupid workaround, which with hindsight was never going to work with an incomplete downloaded .cab file.
I called them back and they basically told me they have some problems they hope to have fixed later today - but as far as I can tell this is pretty standard fare from Tomtom HOME. They cannot/will not email me the .cab file, by the way.
If I spend any more time trying to download this file I will be divorced....
Anyone have any ideas? Is it possible for me to get that .cab file from someone else? Will that make my download work, or will I then have other problems?
All help gratefully received!
Thanks.

All you can really do is persevere, without the complete download it will not install and update.
Try doing the download overnight when the TomTom servers are not so heavily loaded, seems to have worked for quite a few others on the forums. _________________ Graham.

That small cab file along with internal serve error might indeed be temporary TomTom server problems and they might get it fixed within a day or two. I would not worry much about it.
As for download bailing out at the end I think I know where the problem might be. Disable your antivirus software. Had I think similar issue when gettin WCE (2GB) map. Download always bailed out when reaching almost complete status. WHat really happened... when the download almost completed (but was still showing as downloading in home) antivirus software took over and was trying to scan the downloaded 2gb zip file (inside the archive)... home hasn't received any data during thos and thought it's network timeout and bailed out.

I don't think you can properly activate a v7 map using Home v1 at all. |

I have finally (sometime in the wee small hours on 14 Feb) managed to download 7.15 maps on the 3rd attempt. First two attempts ended in server error (first download failed on the early evening of 12 Feb, second failed at around 8am on 13 Feb).
Note to anybody that it has erased all my favourites, so as others have said make sure you back up your TT before you download.
[Edit] Looks like I need to copy over the MapSettings.cfg from the W-E map folder.
