|
|
Hi All,
I have been using the camera database for some time and was paying £2 a go (ideal for me).
Last week i found a new fixed camera site.
I logged onto PGPS World and input the new site and found information about FREE LIFE TIME UPDATES! if first to report it.
I had Email back today to thank me for my input.
It mentions that the free life time updates are giving to the first report AND active member.
Can someone tell me if i qualify for the update if i used to pay £2 when i needed an update or am I only an active member if I have payed the new fee.
Thanks
Kev |

Hi Kev, in this case 'Active member' means a member who holds a current subscription. Our lifetime subscriber offer is only open to members who are currently subscribed.
Unfortunately this means your submission would not have been eligible had it been the first report. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren,
Thanks for that information.
I find that bit unfair that i will still have to pay the full amount even though i have informed them of a new camera and will continue to use the database as i have i the passed.
I was in a catch 20/2 as to get a free membership i would need to pay the full amount now and not the £2 i used to, then inform you of the camera.
Just seems i bit hard on the people who are used to paying £2 when they needed it.
Thanks

Kev, it's been discussed at length. We made the move as a direct result of piracy and the move has massively reduced issues.
Had we any other option we would have taken it but there wasn't one. We realise that dropping the monthly sub would affect a small number of users but faced with serious piracy issues were users were openly sharing and uploading our database knowing that when caught they risked losing only £2 we had to take positive action.
At £19 it is still the best value database available and for that small investment you have 12mths in which to find and report a new or changed camera. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I'm sure there's no reason why you couldn't submit it again as soon as you've subscribed.
If it is in a really out of the way place there's a chance you MIGHT still be the first.
I'm sure PGPSW wouldn't be so heard-hearted as to say that 'subscribed you' wasn't the first, because 'un-subscribed you' beat you to it! |

Andy, I've already made this offer to 'gluey' in a PM. _________________ Darren Griffin |
