I run TT5 on an IPAQ HX2750 (windows mobile 2003)
Maps on an SD card.
Several times recently when I have started up TT it starts OK, but I have no favorites ? ... it is 'greyed' out on display.
Not even my home location.
I put them back in, and it may be OK for a couple of weeks .. but then ... it goes again.
Is this a known issue ? Is there a fix.
I don't think it's a memory card issue as maps are never affected. |

This Thread will probably help you.
A quick Search for cfg losing in the Navigator Forum will return quite a few more. _________________ Richard

checked the SD card sw - OK
Checked Read only is not set of .cfg file
As this works 75% of the time, assume general setup must be OK ... it's just that a couple of times month .. it loses all config.
My HP does it's soft reset now and again on power up as the Fingerprint/encryption ( Credant Guardian ) fails on start up.
But this should not lose data on an SD card.
Anybody any other suggestions ? |

Make sure you exit the TomTom application correctly BEFORE switching the PDA off, if the PDA is writing to the card or more specifically the .cfg file when you de-power the device there is a chance you will corrupt the file, the next time you start the navigator it will delete the corrupt file and start again creating a new one, net result is a loss of all settings.
Backup the .cfg file to another folder and next time it corrupts simply copy/paste the backup .cfg into the map folder and your settings will be back to normal - Mike |

That might be it ...
Good tip on copying the file, once I rebuild the Favorites, I'll save a copy. |
