|
|
hello,
Is there a not overly complicated way to connect our new HP IPAQ 310 GPS system to our 2005 Toyota Highlander's speaker system? One of the major complaints about our GPS systme is the volume level, and I was thinking that there should be away to add the device to our car's speakers similar to the way many phones are able to be connected to auto speakers. |

Welcome...
1. Does your car audio have a line in socket?
2. Does your satnav have a line out socket?
If yes to both - easy
If yes to #2 only, you could buy an FM transmitter, as sold for iPods etc for ~£10-20
If yes to #1 only much trickier....
Either solution will mean you can ONLY listen to the satnav though. It wont give any clever switching between normal radio and navigation announcements. |

Our GPS has a line out socket, but the car does not have a line in. How much would it cost in the US to have a line in socket added tot he vehicle? |

Probably simpler and cheaper to replace the radio unit with one that has required input socket. Readily available here in Europe - don't know about the US though. _________________ Phil |

Or try one of the cheap FM transmitters I mentioned above? |

Have a read of the post I made a while back in This Thread it details a number of options for connection to a car system, whilst it was aimed at a Garmin product you have the same 3,5MM socket so it is applicable - Mike |
