Lets start with a basic check, start TomTom and tap the sat strength meter in the lower right corner of the screen, the next screen has a few areas of information one of which is another sat strength meter (much smaller upper righthand side) tap this to get to the "GPS Status" screen, top right is a small yellow/ blue circle is this rotating or stationary, leave it for at least 30 seconds before deciding, then post back with the results - Mike |

Have you recently altered any of the settings within the GPS applet which is found in settings?
It should be set as follows:
Hardware COM port: COM 2
Baud rate: 4800.
Software COM port: COM 4
Assuming the above is correct and the yellow/ blue disk still doesn't spin Go to the "GPS Status" page (as before) and tap the configure button
Select "Other NMEA GPS Receiver", Baud Rate 9600 followed by COM 4 then see if the disk spins, if it does take it outside and wait for a position fix - Mike |

But what have you got set in the GPS applet in Start/ Settings as it could be this that is messing up the configuration, alternately simply work through the list one at a time until it starts to spin (don't bother with the ivt virtual com ports though) - Mike |

Exit TomTom and press Start/ Settings on one of the tabs (System probably) will be an icon called GPS or External GPS tap this to get at the GPS port settings of the device, this is best left alone, but the settings I previously posted are what should be selected on your device - Mike |

Lower down the GPS Status screen is a bar chart, does this show any sign of activity, probably in grey, if so wait longer until they turn Blue and you get a resltant fix, after 10 minutes I would expect to see some bar graph activity - Mike |
