Hi all
I have the H1940(US) with sd card(512MB) and tomtom navigator 2 with the latest software and updates.
i have 2 maps installed one is for Austria (where i live) and one for italy ,
when i try to look for something on the Austria map , all is fine and working perfect but when i try to switch maps to italy , the screen comes and disappears immediately and the navigator exits without any error message and i still can see the bluetooth GPS sign on lower right of the screen , why the navigator does not change to italy map and exits?

thanks
josef

That sounds like the Italy map data is corrupted. Can you re-install the Italy mapset and see if the problem is resolved?

Quite a few people have been having this problem lately, myself included. The only way I fixed it was to ditch the two Sandisk SD cards and replace with another manufacturer (Panasonic). Works fine now!

It's almost certainly the SD Card. You could run SoftWinters's Storage Tools utility on the SD card (available in our download area), and defragment the card. Ideally though I would format it and thn re-install the maps.

This may reduce your problems but they won't go away, only solution is a different make of SD card, avoid Sandisk at all costs Thumbs Up

As long is is is not Sandisk and does not have 'Made in China' on it's reverse you should be OK with most others.
