At the moment I am using Navigator 5 on a PalmeOne Zire 72 (Palm OS 5) and want to upgrade maps.

From the TomTom site it appears I have to buy Navigator 6 - can somebody confirm that?

If I have to buy Navigator 6, does anyone know if it's compatible with OS5 as the web site does not mention my Zire.

I've tried ringing TomTom but got fed up after holding on for 20 mins - Do they actually have human beings at that place or is the telephone line just another 0845 ripoff

TIA

David

You will need version 6 for the latest maps but if your system isn't listed then it's not supported. This doesn't mean it won't work though so use this as a guide. I queried this with TomTom re my IPAQ and they emailed that version 6 is more resource hungry, both processor and memory, but as mine had more of both than systems that are supported, I tried it. Resources aren't an issue but it keeps crashing the system and losing all the settings, and sometimes needs 2 or 3 resets to get it working. I've now abandoned it in favour of a Navman S90i as the impression is that support for PDAs generally is starting to dry up.

You'll find some entries on this forum who have no problems with v6 though, despite their devices not being listed. If you don't get an answer one way or the other then try other forums and search the internet.

Good luck
