Im thinking of buying this database for my TomTom6 enabled PDA.

Can i have JUST these POI's talking to me, rather than directional information.

Id like to have a speec camera warning, but then not followed by "turn left into your street where youve lived for 18 years".

I guess though that this is disabling the whole point of SatNav.

Could it be as easy as creating a new voice, with no sound in, and then using a different voice for the POI's?

Any help would be great

Welcome to the forum, there are a couple of ways to just get camera warnings and no navigation instructions:
1/ Set the device up to warn all the time irrespective of whether there is a route planned or not - this way with no route planned you still get the warnings for the camera's but no nav instructions.

2/ Use a free to use silent voice and select this for your voice, this is better as it allows you to have a route planned and only warn if the camera is on your route (it will pick up close by cameras though from time to time) - the downside is you MUST plan a route for the warnings to occur if you decide this is for you.

3/ Delete some of the foreign voices from the voices folder and select a greyed out voice in the Change Preferences/ Manage Voices/ Switch voice option, this will still give camera warnings, but no nav instructions irrespective of route planned or not

As you can see the flexibility is there within the system, its up to you how you want to use it - Mike

I think ill go for the unusable voice option, seems to be the best overall option.
