HI ALL
I have just got a 720t home at 6.oopm
After setting it up and playing with it ,it has now stopped recognizing any spoken address that I try to put into it
It asks me to please state city.
When I do nothing happens.
Dose the 720T have a volume control on this function or is it another faulty 720
Have done a factory reset. Still the same.
ANY HELP PLEASE |

Have you setup bluetooth and tested for correct operation?
If your unit suffers "the bluetooth buzz" this also effects all functions that use the mic and thus when you use voice recognition it just hears the buzz.
If yes try disabling bluetooth to see if it helps.

Mine did this to me once, and at the same time it wouldn't let me select a TTS voice. A reset didn't fix it, but a "return to factory settings" (in the menus) did. I couldn't investigate further as I was on Holiday with no PC access at the time. It's never done it since. |

Hi,
I have the same problem with my tomtom 720T i purchased from pixamina.co.uk 2 months ago. I phoned up tomtom in the UK (phone number on website) and they told me that there was a batch of tomtom 720T they made that have dodgy mic's in. They asked me for the S/N of the product and then asked me if i would like to return it to the place i bought it from and will be exchanged or i could send it back to them (Tomtom) and they would repair it for me , Both ways free of charge. If you phone up tomtom on the number on the page: http://www.tomtom.com/support/solution.php?GID=1&PID=1683&SID=0&CID=152&Language=1&FID=368 under the "By Phone" section. By the way be patiant while they answer your call as i was on hold for 30mins until they answered.
Good Luck

Have you updated to app v7.221? I had the same problem Andy mentioned (computer voices going wonky) and a reinstall of the app and voices, plus restoring to factory settings and pushing the reset button seemed to work. Not sure if they're related, since I didn't have the SR activated when that happened. |
