Copy POI's to 310 SD card only

Apologies if this is covered - I've seen it mentioned but not been able to get it to work.

Several people suggest copying POIs to the SD card rather than uploading them via POILOADER.

How is this done as I can not seem to get POIs on the SD card to be seen.

I'm using the nuvi 310 Deluxe with standard SD card.

You still need to use POILoader to load them onto the SD Card. It can't be done directly. This is because POILoader collates the POIs into one big file called POI.GPI and then loads it to the SD Card.

You need to have the SD card in a card reader in your PC and tell POILoader to load them to the card.

The SD card is the next drive up from the nuvi in POILOADER

Apart from "being available if the SD card is removed" - is there any benefit in just leaving them on the SD card and not copying them to the unit?
