hi everyone
basically my dad's tt710 has developed a fault,
when you turn it on, it loads up, starts loading the stuff off the card then loads the splash screen and stays on there
anyone know what the problem is?
i dont have a docking station for it either so cant just click on tt home and update it. i've tried using a memory card reader and the card loads up properly and all files are still there, but dont know how to update it without the docking station
any ideas?
thanks in advance. |

Normally we would suggest a restore, do you have a backup? Where is the docking station? _________________ Darren Griffin |

no dont have a back up for the 710, have one from my 720 though, will that work?
or if i put my 720 card into the 710 will it work?
my dad bought the TT off ebay, and never had a docking station with it which was a bit weird as it was boxed with the instuctions etc and everything else was there |

Unfortunately, the x20s are slightly different to the x10s.
I think you're going to have to get a Home Dock.
Presumably as it's never been updated it still has V6 Software and Maps on it.
What you could do, with the Card Reader is do a Full Backup of the Card, using Explorer. See #1 of the FAQs Page.
Download V6.525 and Unzip the 5 Files to somewhere on your PC.
Then Copy these Files to the Root of the SD Card, overwriting the Files that already exist.
Put the Card back into the 710 and switch on. I have a feeling that it reboots several times as it re-flashes the ROM.
But I could be wrong on that. _________________ Richard
