|
|
Hi Folks
I am thinking of getting an 520 0r 720 to install in our new delivery van. But it also seems a good time to replace the drivers mobile phone. Have been using a nokia 6210 with full in car/van kit. So its time to go bluetooth, this will save me installing the phone kit again.
I have looked at the Orange site to see what phones we can upgrade to also the tomtom site to see what will work with the 520/720. The phones listed on the tomtom site must be old by now, they are not on the orange site. So from this list do you use any of these. The only one that comes up on both lists is the E50 but does not have all the ticks against it.
Nokia 6500, 6300,3110,6120, 6301
I have always used and been happy with nokia so far, but I do see that the sony ericsson K810i & W660i are on both lists and have all the boxes ticked.
Thanks for any help Kevin |

I recently got a 520 and a SE W810i. Connection between the two is faultless; and ticks all the boxes - including very prompt and clear reading aloud of SMS/texts by 520's computer voice. |

I am also with Orange and have a TT 720, I have previously used a Motorola Razr & a Pebble via Bluetooth.
I now have a Blackberry 8800 which also works perfectly via Bluetooth & Tomtom. |

Thanks everyone for your input. It looks as if the SonyEricsson phones are a safer bet with the tomtom, so might have to change my loyalty. |

Anyone tried one of the newer Blackberries - I'm thinking of getting the Curve - 8320 or something like that - ideally I'd like to use it for handsfree via the 920 and for traffic data via the mobile network - the list of tested devices is pretty dated on the TomTom site |

The Sony Ericsson P1i ticks all the boxes as well. I had the Curve and if I remember rightly, the bluetooth was fine but not sure about the data side. Think there was problems.
And that list on TT is about as much use as a chocolate teapot!! |

Yes the TT website has a huge list of phones of which most are no longer on contract.
Do what I did, Take your TT into store and test it against phone you are buying. |

For future reference why not list your TomTom model and Your phone (Full Name of Phone) and what features it covers and i (or someone else that wants to) can make a new table for them and post them in a sticky here. If one of the PGPS staff would agree to this first before anybody posts just to check this is ok.
I would be a bit upset if TomTom got a hold of this though as i think it is their job to do it. This is why it should only be posted here but don't think that would stop TomTom getting them though. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

It's been said in the past that TomTom DO read this forum...
Whether they still do, I don't know. I think they might be too ashamed to! (or they SHOULD be...) |
