Hello friends,
I am new here, and I have a question:
can I really transfer the TomTom software to another device while upgrading the maps?
Right now I have SonyEricsson P910i with MOBILE 5 and have ordered M600i which can run NAVIGATOR 6. I have contacted TomTom support and they have confirmed that I only need new map to upgrade to NAVIGATOR 6 (which will be included in the downloaded package), and that I will even be able to transfer everything to another smartphone during upgrade. Will it really work? If so -- I will need to pay only 50 EUR for Western Europe (because currently 50% off) maps instead of 129 EUR for the whole new package.
Of course I should jut believe what TomTom support says, but still, to be sure... Moreover, M600i is not officially supported by TomTom -- it may cause additional problems if the whole procedure fails.
Damnation!
few minutes ago, another TomTom reply has arrived, and now they say that NAVIGATOR 6 is not included with the maps anymore, so I have to buy the whole package for 129€ :-(
Still, is there any legal trick to avoid it? Somewhere in the TomTom FAQs I still can read that new software version is included in downloadable maps. I am wrong, or TomTom support is?...
Hi vygi
Damnation? Hell, you must be in a tizzy coming out with language like that.
Anyway, I use TT5 and thirteen months ago I purchased the latest Maps of Western Europe NAV5 v6.6. It cost 80€. It also gave me the option of updating to TT6 at no extra cost. Although I never took them up on their offer, and have no regrets), it would be nice to know that the offer still held good. According to your Post it obviously does not. A pity. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.
