|
|
Hi
I have a TomTom 720 and want to get the North America map whilst they are on offer. Can anyone tell me if I can run this map from a SD card alongside the Western Europe map that comes preinstalled on the 720 or do I have to uninstall the Western Europe map and install the North America map on the internal memory?
If you can run it alongside on an SD card how do I install it so it works?
Thanks |

It will work from the memory card, just install the map to the SD card in the device using the Home software then use Change Preferences/ Manage Maps / Switch Maps on the device to select the new addition - Mike |

Thanks
That sounds fairly straightforward. Is there anything else I need to install on the memory card other than the map? I think I read somewhere that you also need to install the tomtom application, is this correct? |

With the x20 devices they can share memory and see both the internal memory and SD at the same time, there is no reason to install the application to the card - Mike |

Thanks mikealder.
Now the question is what SD card to use. I have a spare 2GB Sandisk Extreme III. Will that work ok with the TomTom 720? |

That should be fine, at least it is a decent card to start with, pop it in the device and load some music to it, if that works you will find no problems later on - Mike |
