Last week I drove from Manchester to Newcastle using the M62, M1, A1M and A1. Some of the warnings were really useful such as the average speed cameras but there were a lot of false positives particularly on the M1 section round Leeds. Are false warnings removed as quickly as new warnings added? |

Hi Mickey, and welcome to the forums.
I have just had a look at the M1 around Leeds on our map. There are a number of mobile camera locations along this stretch of road but no permanent cams. It is probably the mobile sites that you are mistaking for a 'false positive'. Mobiles sites are not active for most of the time, so you have to be pretty unlucky to actually find one in use. The PGPSW database includes mobile sites to tell you where a mobile might be.
Cams are removed when someone tells GPSW that the cam is no lonhger there, and the fact that it has been removed is verified by one of the camera verifiers. Obviously, mobile cams are a bit difficult to verify absolutely because of what I mentioned above.
Anyway, if you should be lucky enough to spot a new camera, you will qualify for lifetime free membership. (Full details on the downloda page) |

If you are using the single file with all cameras on it, then whilst all the cameras will be listed it will be difficult to differenciate the mobiles from the fixed cameras. Like M8TJT said mobile cameras by their very nature are not always there, but I'm sure you would be glad for the advanced warning.
I would recomend using one of the seperated files, which will require a little more work to install but will show the different camera types on the screen. _________________ Dom
