I wonder if anyone can help me with this.......
I have a TomTom with Western Europe map. I have been using the device in UK no problem and normally I navigate using the "Postcode".
Next month we will be going to Itally and have a hired car. I am thinking of taking my TomTom. Now the question is "How do I program the device?" They have address like: "Valledoria, Sassari 07039". Which one is the post code? Or how do you program TomTom when travelling in Europe?

Postcodes are only used in the UK and Netherlands on TomTom devices. You just need to navigate to 'Address' then 'Street'. You will be prompted for a city but you may first have to change the country (if a flag is shown) to eg Italy.

Before you go, have a go at navigating to addresses in the UK that you know to get the hang of it.

Have a good trip. Smile

Thanks for the reply. I'll have a little play with the way you suggested.

Garmin puts it here:-
N40 55.671 E8 49.373
Sardinia

Google puts it here:_
40.927850, 8.822883

Just enter it as a Waypoint and navigate to it!

If it's a V7xx Map then proceed by using Navigate to ... | Address | Street and house number.

In the City Screen tap the Country Flag and then the Down Arrow to be able to select Italy.

Type in 07039 and you will be offered '07039 (Valledoria)'.

When asked for Street type Sass and 'Via Sassari' is offered.

Just Select and OK through the menus if that is the required street.

According to the TT Map it's about 100 yards long.

TT puts it at 40.92620, 8.82901 Confused
