TomTom ov2 just download it and unzip the download, copy the files straight to your Map Folder on the device - Mike

But all the TT databases are OV2.

Am I missing something?

Can you clarify the problem?

Surely if you select TomTom OV2 then hit continue you can select the format you want from the next list.

If you want to know what the different formats are they are listed to the right of the selection list.

Quote:
What are the available downloads?
The downloads vary dependant on the SatNav system you use. Not all types are available for each system.

Consolidated by type: Contains one file for each type of speed camera.

Single File: Contains all the speed cameras in a single file irrespective of type.

Speed Zoned: Contains the speed cameras in individual files for each speed limit and each camera type.

If I go to the download choose Speed Camera download page this is what I see when I scroll down to the Tom Tom section.

TomTom CityMaps,
RoutePlanner No
TomTom Go 910 Yes TomTom OV2 / TomTom Home OV2 Click Here
TomTom Go series,
One series,
Rider Yes TomTom OV2 / TomTom Home OV2 Click Here
TomTom Navigator 1,2,3
HP Navigation Kit,
Palm,
Mobile

Yes TomTom OV2 / TomTom Home OV2 Click Here
TomTom Navigator 5 & 6 on Pocket PC Yes TomTom OV2 / TomTom Home OV2

Obviously I am looking for a section which says Tom Tom 520 Click Here.

But seeing as Mike Alder has suggested just choose an OV2 file and they are all OV2 files I obviously don't want to choose the wrong download.

So am I missing something?

Every single model on the market is NOT listed!!!

All you are looking at is a table of information about which database is compatible with which line of Sat Navs.

You need TomTom Go range for your TomTom Go 520, which is listed under Go 910 and above One Series.

Here is the information you need - Click Here

Once you have subscribed you can download the database. You need to select TomTom OV2 then the format you want to use.

Obviously I ain't no expert, but if it was so obvious that every model was not going to be listed, and assuming every OV2 database is compatible with Tom Tom's then wouldn't it be more obvious just to list Tom Tom once so that you just chose Tom Tom rather than the half a dozen options?

The list you are looking at is a list of compatibility options and instructions pages. Look at the Click Here links in the right hand column. Each one points to a different set of instructions hence the multiple options.

If you have a 910 you use these instructions

If you have a GO, One or Rider you use these instructions

etc

No. Shocked

As stated above, and because you have a Go 520, you select the "GO, One or Rider" instructions.

In actual fact, because the 520 has TTS capability, the instructions for the 910 would be correct if using the TTS for warnings.

Sorry Paul, but I think you are
a. confusing the guy , and
b. wrong.

The reason there are different instructions for the 910 are because it was re-written to add instructions for the text to speech abilities.
As the 520, 720 and 920 models also have text to speech capabilities, the most relevant instructions ARE the ones for the 910.
The compatibility table needs updating to reflect this.
