hi wondering if any one can help
i have a bought a couple of s/h ipaq's 3850 & 5455, also just bought a secondhand navman sleeve to hopefully run tom tom,
problem is when i put the jacket on i am met with a box saying unregognised card , it then goes on to say to enter the device driver for this card and insert the name in to the box,
i have downloaded navman 3.1.6 driver and installed them , onthe iipaq i have a gps icon setting in the programs however when i press gps setup it gives me a gps com setting as closed
and if i press start configiraution it switches to binary ? but nothing happens
can anyone give detailed instructions to rectify this i will be very grateful
regards

The Navman Serial Driver is needed if you wish to use the Navman Jacket with a 3rd party application such as TomTom. Installing it will cure the 'Unrecognised Card' error message when the jacket is connected.
Once you have installed the serial driver you should be able to access the jacket from a navigation or mapping application. You don't make it clear if you actually have an application installed as yet? Oh and can you add your country location to your profile pleeeaase _________________ Darren Griffin |

yes i tried loading the driver, it is in the program list,
but when i click on the gps set up it says the com ports are closed etc , if
if i singly click the gps icon it tells ne that the sleeve is not attatched ,
if i go to system it defines that i have a jacket installed "navmangps comfact flash type 2"
thanks will update the profile tonight , must dash WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

But do you have any software actually installed? What is the GPS Icon related to, it could be a leftover from an uninstalled program? _________________ Darren Griffin |

OK, soft reset, launch the GPS App (GPS Icon) and configure it for 'Navman 3000' and COM4, let me know what error you get if any? _________________ Darren Griffin |

OK, is this on the 3850? If so can you try re-installing the Navman Serial Sriver and then performing a soft-reset before trying the config again? _________________ Darren Griffin |
