Confusion with which map I have

I purchased the UK and Ireland plus major roads of Western Europe map about 1 year ago.

The other night I purchased the latest version 7 map of UK and Ireland. I was looking at what was on my TomTom 300 GO using HOME and it tells me that on my computer in the download area is

Great Britain and Republic of Ireland V710 (129.6 MB)

on my TomTom are

United Kingdom and The Republic Of Ireland Version 710 (129.2MB)

Uk and Ie plus major Roads of WE V660 (232.2MB)

You will see that the name of the V7 file on my computer is different from the V7 map on my TomTom - why? and a small difference in size.

Also why so much difference in the sizes of the 2 maps on my TomTom. Is this because the newer map does not have the Western Europe data on it? In effect do I have to keep both maps on my TomTom and if I went abroad would have to switch between the maps? A bit of a bummer as you cannot use the map correction facility on the older map and if you had made all sorts of corrections to the new map using mapshare etc then I would feel reluctant to start the journey using the older, not updated, map.
