Firstly, to get a little obsession off my chest, you've got a ONE "3rd Edition" not a v3 (the v3 was one of the previous "New Edition" (a.k.a "Second Edition") models).
Now, as for the POIs...
Any POI categories you make yourself on the machine or add by copying POI files, will have an accompanying .bmp icon/picture file.
ALL of the built-in POIs that come with the machine are stored in a single file called poi.dat and have no separate .bmp files. I assume the icons are buried in the same file.
You don't say what the names of the ov2 files you are seeing are, but I bet they are the demo version of the TomTom-supplied speed camera database.
These don't work like ordinary POIs (they are handled in the "Plus services" menu rather than the "Manage POI" menu for a start) and they don't have normal icons either.
Rest assured that when you start adding POI files yourself, they will/should all have .bmps with them. (If you have a POI and the .bmp file is missing, the TT will just show a blank red square on screen).. |

Also, if the OV2 files you are seeing are named CAxxxx.ov2 or PAxxxx.ov2, these are part of the Mapshare function that use the icons from the built-in poi database. _________________ Gerry
