Hello All,
I bought a few days ago an X 980T v7, updated to 7.0.2 last night. No issue so far, I am quite happy with everything, being a first GPS device.
One question though: I activated the speed warning alerts, triggered when you go over a speed limit.
How do we change the speed limits in the system?
I looked at the support online: ''These settings are accessible from the Main menu via Options, Alerts, Speed Alerts''
I cannot find this menu anywhere.. would this be actually for the older software v6?
The only way to access anything related to the alerts is in the Security Menu in Navigation Mode. And there: only possible to turn it Off or On, no option to change the values.
It seems the default values are not designed for UK roads: ie with the 60mph limit on normal roads, instead of 50 or 55 in the system, it keeps telling me I drive at excessive speed..!
Any thoughts on this issue are welcome, or anyone has a similar problem?
Thanks

Tom, Try |settings|Alert|Speed Alert| You then find that you are presented with different road classes for which you can set a speed limit.
I think you might find that some of the roads give inaccurate limits.
Don't forget to select 'activate' when you've reset your preferences. _________________ Regards

Unfortunately this seems to be a difference between V6 and V7; I gave similar advice to someone on one of the other forums some while back, only to find I had been looking at the V6 manual (I have a V7 unit).
If you look at the latest manual you will not find this option any more - I asked Stu (Deepfour) about it earlier, as I thought it was a very good option. It also provided a neat way of avoiding motorways for the faint hearted - see the (also very out of date for V7 users) FAQ section on the Michelin user support page. |

Ok, thanks guys for the infos.
Yes, I don't have the "|settings|Alert|Speed Alert|" from Trev.
I thought indeed that it would apply to v6 only when I saw the menus were different.
Cheers
