Problem with 950T

When starting up my 950T an error message appears -

Application MAPSONIC.EXE has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down -

Any ideas about correcting this.

In the absence of any other replies, can you provide any more background to this?

If it's a new unit, maybe something went wrong with the installation, and it may be worth trying to re-install it. Or maybe you had some sort of failure while it was connecting with the PC. Did anything unusual happen before[/quote] you got the error; has it always started up ok before?

Thanks for reply. I think I have major problems. Firstly this is a new pnd. I tried installing VM software, proceeded as far as installing Active Sync 4.2 (mobile device shows in My Computer and get audible notice of connection/disconnection OK) but then error message appears - cannot find device - plug in device (or some similar message) do that, but still same error message, so cannot complete installation.

As far as card is concerned, when inserting in pnd all I get is-
UK+Ireland.fdp(Storage Card)
If you can help me resolve these issues would be most grateful

So this is a different unit from the one you posted earlier with no DVD?

If you do have the DVD and everything supplied with a new unit, as a first step I suggest you download the full manual from the VM website (unless you already have!) and check through it to see if there are any clues in there. It may be worth uninstalling and starting again following the manual.

Then see if the problem is still there. Good luck.

I got the same error with my X980T New edition when I started a route.
