Downloaded CP7 safety camera database and after deleting the "ao" files already present in the CoPilot/EU/Save folder, saved the new one.
Whilst following route directions recently, (A666, Darwen, Lancashire) three sited gatso's, failed to pop up as a warning.
STRANGE THING.........after looking at the same area later, on the "pick on map" menu choice, the cameras are there!!! Are these the original ALK CoPilot camera sites, supplied with the upgrade, hiding somewhere, like, in the "points of interest folder" (I have POI disabled, and even if so, I can't find them), or are they pgpsworld files that are not working properly for some reason.
Also, depite saving the bitmap camera icons, the cameras that do show, all appear as gatso's.
I have since re-installed the original ALK safety camera file to try and check out the above, but meanwhile, any help, advice or comments would be greatly appreciated
Thanks...... Brian Confused

I think that there's a discrepancy with the heading information for some cameras.

I had one on the way home last night that's reversible, but didn't warn me in the direction that I was travelling.

Part of the problem could be that the original ALK file has 2 cameras listed where a camera is reversible.

As for the bitmaps, ALK are 'working on this'.

MaFt posted what he believes is an explanation here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=61104&start=15
which would seem to make sense as to what is happening.

Unfortunately it makes camera direction data pretty useless in CP7 in many cases.

unless you're in guidance mode...

also, you need to set it up so that poi's are displayed on the map else you get nothing other than audible warning (if your heading matches).

regarding the reversible cams i have recently changed the scripts that create the CP7 files so any camera that is reversible will have the heading removed so you should get a warning from any direction. you'll need to redownload the files though!

Sounds good in the short term. I wonder if ALK will change the way this behaves ATM.
