Back in the summer I submitted the location of two mobile speed camera locations in my town which I had seen operating myself.
Apart from the automatic response, I have heard nothing more. My subscription has now expired and I am being asked to renew.
I am now aware that there is a third mobile location here, but I am asking myself what is the point of my submitting it? As you say yourself, 99% of the time there is nothing there, so how do you verify mobile site submissions?
Incidently, my two submissions are not on the database. |

Mobile camera submissions are initially verified on the grounds of their suitability for hosting a mobile camera.
These locations are held as 'provisional' locations until such time as a camera is seen at that location again and another report is submitted.
This process is obviously more complex than fixed locations and the timing of its inclusion into the full database is dependant upon more than one submission, therefore the timescale is likely to be longer then for fixed camera locations.
Also, you have to be the first to report this location to qualify for free subscription - the automatic e-mail is confirmation of your submission, not notification that yoou have qualified for free subscription _________________ Andy

It's quicker, for me, to point you to This Thread. _________________ Richard

Hi SpikeUK
The submissions were rejected due to lack of information. We need a description of the actual site so that a verifier has something to compare with the co-ordinates submitted.
Feel free to resubmit with a description of the area that gets used!

I've just renewed my membership and downloaded the latest speed camera database. I am suprised to see that the sites I submitted are not on the database - not because my submission was unsucessful, but because it seems that no-one else has submitted the sites.
I am going to re-submit, but I am not sure what extra detail it was you needed, are you expecting a verbal description of the road?
Btw, I am rather chuffed that this thread was one which DennisN picked in his list of Discussion Threads here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=posting&mode=quote&p=381705
I hope I am not in danger of becoming one of the "where's my free subscription brigade". |

Remember that mobile sites are more difficult.
These have to be verified for site suitability and also have to wait for a further submission.
You say that these cameras aren't in the database, but have you checked the speed camera page to see if they're pMobile sites and awaiting verification or follow-up submissions?
Duplicate submissions may only add to MaFt's workload unnecessarily _________________ Andy

Nope, they're not on that map as pmobiles.
Like I said, I'm really suprised that no-one else has submitted them by now. I'll get on to it. |

OP will need to resubmit the sites as they were rejected due to lack of information.
basically we need a description of the road / spot where they park eg opposite a church in a layby, parked on the grass. outside number 32, handheld unit with van round corner etc
hope this helps

Hi SpikeUK,
Glad you renewed your subscription. Please resubmit the site(s).
Firstly don't forget to give all the required information like longitude and latitude co-ordinates, site type, speed limit, heading, and whether the site could trap you from one or both directions.
Secondly, as a Verifier, I like good solid description like:
There's a special hard standing for "authorised vehicles only".
They park on the grass and it's getting cut-up
They use a camera in a van or it's hand held.
As long as the above comments are true and relative to the site then it'll show that you have physically been to the site and that you have seen the site in use.
Don't forget that the more information you give us about the site's location and how and what used it then the more a Verifier will be to accept the site.
