Just installed and activated CP7, but when I use it no roads show up. I can enter a route, and as I drive the distance comes down, POIs show up, but there are no roads on the maps at all.
Anybody else had this problem? |

try a soft reset if not remove the program and reinstall. have you copied the files on to a new sd card _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Yes, tried all of those.
I now also find that the programme won't start, even in its faulty state, if the installation card is not in, which would mean, if the programme worked, that I either run CoPilot or any other programmes which I have on SD, obviously not satisfactory.
I'm going to try a hard reset and reinstall later on.
This was an upgrade from CP6 so I'm familiar with the programme. |

Are you using the SD card that CP sent? if so and you have your own, have you tried to load the program and maps onto your SD card and test? I have not used their card that they supplied, but have instead used mine that I had CP6 installed on. Mine was an upgrade, but I have completely removed it and deleted the folder and then installed the CP7 on the card. |

I had a heck of a job loading the files until I did a hard reset and copied the files on to my old SD card, been fine since. Got no explanation from ALK but I had an email from them a couple of days ago that someone else has same problem with the Micro SD card. (Mio A201) |

follow this guide to check you have copied it correctly
there is a guide to doing this on the site and in many posts in the tomtom section of the site relating to backing up sd card _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

CP works perfectly well. All settings work, favourites, POIs, recent etc.
I get perfect voice instructions how long to go, when to turn, but the display simply doesn't show any roads.
It shows water, greenery, suburbia etc, but no roads!
I've followed all the copying threads, and been through the FAQs, on this site and others, but still no roads.
Update - Don't get voice instructions. I do get golf courses (been past two today!) and railway lines.

1 Yes
2 All files copied via AS but there is nothing I recognize as a map
3 To use cp central one needs a pc, but the quickstart guide says that I do not need to install anything on the PC. |

For the quickstart using the original card you should just be able to install the application from the sd card
on thing it maybe is you acctivation code is not allowing the map to be shown ive had this with cp6 on the smartphone i would give alk a call they are usually very helpful _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. I know that I should be able to install from the sd card, but that is just the problem - it doesn't!
I've had two activation codes (I did a hard reset and had to re-install) and it's unlikely that both of them were faulty.
Been on to ALK. All they can suggest is that I do not have a GPS fix, which is less than helpful, since I can enter a route and watch the distance to go come down and see various POIs come and pass.
I think it's going to have to go back, and I'll stick with CP6 which has been no trouble for eighteen months. |

"using copilot central and a card reaadr tyr to create a quickstart on you sd card"
All else having failed I installed CP Central to try this, but could not find any option to do it.
Could you give me a steer in the right direction please?
Sorry, getting a bit senile!

You will need to go to the maps page to install an area and then select a small area just enough to get some roads and copy that and when asked do the supporting files as well. Then you select the card reader from the top right of the page with the SD card in it and your set. I'm not at home so trying to remember the exact sequence from memory. |
