|
|
anyone managed to get a mobile phone woring with all functionality on the 520.
I know there is a compatibility list here http://www.tomtom.com/phones/compatibility/?intProduct=19
, but half the phones in the list went end of life a year ago, and i'm sure it's not an up to date listing.
I'm looking for phone book usual Bluetooth link up, phone book copying, and maybe even text message read out/compilation.
So what phones work with this device please?
Cheers, Blair |

PS
I can't get my Blackberry 8800 to even connect with the Tom Tom, but that could be the BB as it's locked down (work phone).
We managed to link a Sony Ericson K800i but would make and receive calls only. The phone book would not copy across.

Only one I've tried is daughter's Sony Erikkson 3 thousand and something. Worked fine for hands-free and texting and would read incoming texts aloud.
I think it imported the contacts list too, but was told to remove it sharpish! |

I've had everything working on a Sony Ericsson K810i and everything except sms reading on a Nokia E61. |

Before updateing I had my Samsung D500 Paired with the TomTom500. It worked as a handsfree unit only and was able to down load my phone book. Now it does pair, but when you try to use the options it just comes up as incompatable or option not available. And wireless setup fails at about 65%. _________________ Want to get lost, forget your Tomtom next time you go out?

Cheers, Blair | I get a NEW 6230i when I'm entitled to a free upgrade - I simply tell them I want a free upgrade to a new 6230i.
I take it you are a Southerner Softypants - how else could you let the missis take it off you? I mean, your wallet is one thing, but a new GO520 is something else!! Try her with one of these , or a lot of this _________________ Dennis

No no I'm from the North.
North Bristol that is, Filton
I'm afraid that was the deal for me getting one, plus she paid for it
So I don't have a leg to stand on

Nothing worse than an empty stocking on Xmas morning... | Yes there is - knowing there's a new 520 in the house RIGHT NOW and not having your hands on it. Mind you, if he's from Filton, it's no more than he deserves, for not keeping Concorde flying. _________________ Dennis

I was able to copy my phone book to my 520 from my SE K800i. Problem free. All the features work from hands free to reading out aloud incoming text messages.....but only sparadically...not all of the time!!
I wonder... is there a phone out there with every single service FULLY supported that works ALL of the time?? If so, someone chime in with the make and model! _________________ TT GO 520

Got myself a cheap second hand 6230i and misses let me have the 520 back for a few hours yesterday to test it with the phone. Everything worked without any problems, , was really good hearing text jokes read out through the 520.
I would still be interested to find out what other phones work well with it though, can't see this phone lasting that long, would be nice to get a newer model working with it.
