I had the same problem with my One XL and 6288 until I loaded the latest software release (v7.161).
If your One and phone are connecting OK via bluetooth around the 65% mark (it connects then immediately disconnects), leave it alone for a few minutes to timeout then it will go through menus asking for your phone model, service provider etc. Once you've chosen them, it asks loads of questions but just accept whatever it gives as a default.
You also have to ensure your email address and password for MyTomTom is in "Edit TomTom PLUS account" (it's page 6 of prefs on the XL - not sure where on the One).
Mine connects fine now. Just remember that you'll probably pay 3 for the data downloaded as it's not included in the standard contract.
The compatibility table is missing loads of newer phones but as it's near enough the same as the 6280, I reckoned it would be OK. _________________ Gerry
