|
|
Hi,
I have a TT720 that used to update it's software via Home but on checking the software version, it looks like it no longer is doing so. The version on my 720 is App 7.020. I thought that the App versions were now up to 7.2.
Is this correct and if so how do I update the 720 manually to the latest software?
PS My Home is version 2.1.2.121 |

Hmm.
Yes you should be on v7.210.
AFAIK the only versions for the 520/720 have been
v7.000 - July 29th 2007 - First sighting of Navcore 7 in a retail unit
v7.010 - Aug 16th 2007 - (build 8290) Offered by "Home" for Go 520/720 only. Minor update for 7.000-version which shipped with the first x20's. Contains only bugfixes (e.g. for RDS/TMC), no new functionalities.
v7.020 (build 8294) - 16th Oct 2007 - GO520 and 720 only. Minor update for GO x20. Contains only small bugfixes (for MMC cards)
v7.210 (build 8555/07/1025) - 6th Nov 2007 - Go520/720 only? Known changes so far - Bug that didn't silence TTS voices in "Disable voice" menu now fixed. Audiobooks now readable from SD card. Built-in sounds (especially Polite 1,2,3) changed! Speech recognition routine on House number entry seems improved. Big change- now 300 user POI categories allowed.
Home SHOULD have offered you 7.210. There is no "manual" way to download it.
Two possible thigs that I can think of..
1. Don't read the version number when using Home's "virtual" TomTom on the PC, it reports it wrong. Get it by tapping the satellite bars on the actual unit
2. the "Clearflash tool" MIGHT help ? http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?FID=6178&Lid=1. It usually fixes other problems, but might work! |

Do you get other updates (Mapshare etc) when you connect to Home? |

Likewise I also get mapshare updates. I've reported it to TT and I'll see what they say. |

I'm in discussions with someone on another forum who thinks that v7.210 has been pulled from TomTom's servers.
I'm trying to find where his information came from.... |
