O2 XDA Orbit & Copilot 7

Just a quick note for any interested parties. The O2 xda Orbit was recommended to me as an ideal gps/smartphone.

It comes bundled with Copilot 6 (on appropriate tariff). The only problem was the newer version of cp is due out shortly and O2 do not intend to upgrade the software on the phone (according to O2 cs).

I phoned ALK today and they told me that and upgrade to version 7 will be available for £20 which seem pretty good value

That looks like excellent value to me.

To be honest, I didn't like Co-Pilot 6 at all, I hated the way you lose the map for a few seconds every time a speed camera came up - twice, as I recall (my main reason for using sat nav). So I installed my old Medion Navigator 4.2 with POI Warner on the Orbit and it works a treat!

Apparently CP7 is a total re-write and I'd be happy to pay £20 to try it out.

Has the £20 been confirmed since you posted?
